U87's

I hate to tell you, but 1300USD is not a good price on used U87's.
They regularily show up for closer to 1000USD used. If you try hard you can get a new one for between 1600 to 1800USD.

Maybe in Denmark...but I have been watching these go for $1500 or more for several months now. These are among the lowest I've seen lately and one comes with shockmount.

Beezoboy, I'm trying to be fiscally responsible until the end of the year due to my recent gear madness. You're making it very difficult.

Seriously, thanks for the update. The U87 from Sidney looks like a great mic and a great buy, particularly since the shockmount and shipping are included. The other one looks a little dinged up, but still not a bad price. I've never seen one with a power supply before. What's up with that?

It is just a phantom power supply. Sorry if I help to make you broke or eat Ramen noodles for the nest 6 months. But just think, you could have a U87 and be skinny and malnurished.

Dude, you're killing me!

Beezoboy,

I'm not quite sure how to feel about your updates. As informative as they are, I try to find the same ebay sleepers as you are finding (especially the dynamics at the moment). I have located a few of these sleepers only to turn on this forum and see you advertise them a few days later. The M88 you wrote about a couple weeks back doubled in price within a few hours of your post. Could be a coincidence, I don't know.

Don't get me wrong. I don't really want you to stop because this might convince some people to buy proven solid mics as opposed to the flavor de jure. I guess I'll just have to dig harder. ;)

BradD,

Sounds like bad news for Russ. ;)

Thanks for letting me talk.

Well, I've done what I could for Russ for awhile, (a C1 and a pair of Event 20/20 BAS monitors). I sure hope he does well.

Well normally I try to post mics with a BUY NOW that is low, but in this case they were good prices and I had to try and get them up quick, since one was over in 45 minutes. It closed at $1300 which is pretty good.

Some one probably could have gotten that one for only 50 dollars more if they would have bidded. A while back I posted some Neumann Km184's that were a matched pair for $750. It was up for a full day and no one bought. Finally some one bid on it and the buy now was gone. That was a loss of a good deal. To me Ebay is about timing, you just have to bid quick or lose out. You snooze you lose. I'll try not to post ones that don't have "buy now" from now on to ease price inflation.
