Addled but happy
I have a Dell Optiplex (it's real small). A regular size soundcard won't fit in the tower (it's not even a tower--this thing's tiny). So, is there some sort of "outboard" soundcard that I could plug into the Dell's USB? Or do I drag out my old HP ( a real-size tower)?

Is this where somthing like the Gina-24 Digital Audio Card (at musiciansfriend.com) comes into play?

Set me on the path!

Thanks

G

That "senior member" thing means very little. ;)

Thanks for the input. Yes, I am on a budget (new baby, new house -- yikes!).

So, let's say I buy one of these -- I don't need a new soundcard, too, right? It says on their site,
Audiophile 2496 awarded Best Soundcard by Computer Music magazine
. Sounds like this IS the soundcard! It also sounds too easy. Is there a catch? Can such quality transfer of sound occur simply through the USB port? Is the regular 2496 soundcard preferrable?

Thanks again.

G
(I'm a one-man band, so I don't need tons of inputs. I lay down one track at a time, very slowly :D )
