man-- that looks purty. i dig the transparent green finish. it looks like a bigsby copy and p-90's, so i would think it's got some old school vibe. is that a chinese guitar? if the quality control is any good, that sounds like a good deal.

Definitely a close copy of an old Mosrite design, Johnnie Ramone used a Mosrite for most of the Ramones stuff. He said he bought the cheapest guitar guitar in the music store, plugged into a Marshall, and made history.
I'm not sure if their pickups would sound close to a P-90 though, single coil sound though-for sure anyway...

here are about twenty reviews by owners you may read for yourselves.

"I have been playing for 45 years. I own numerious high end guitars from major manufacturers. I bought this on a lark - to mess around with - play some of the old 60's garage band stuff from years ago - wasn't expecting the extremely high quality instrument I purchased. This is as good as any of my high end solid bodies at a fraction of the price."

"I've been a guitar player for nearly 30 years. I've owned Fenders, Gibsons, Epiphones, Rickenbackers. I was ready for something unique, both in sound and appearance. I'm very happy with the Sidejack. It's a beautiful guitar that sounds great both clean and driven. If you're tired of the same old Fender/Gibson guitars, check out an Eastwood. You won't be disappointed!"

"I have played off and on (family, service, career get in the way) since 1959. The guitar exceeds my expectations in every category. No negative features. I will buy more gear from Eastwood.
Very refreshing products that more than just enhance my arenal of equipment. It's extremely playable. I like the scale, sound and feel of the neck. A very enjoyable change from my Fenders, etc.
I like all guitars. Never met one that didn't do somethings well. I've found that ultra expensive guitars, although good, aren't worth the extra money. This guitar is equal too and actually better than a couple of $1200 guitars and one $2000 guitar I have and have had in the past."

"I'm 55 yrs old and have been playing since I was 13 ( sears silvertone). Right now, besides the Eastwood Sidejack, I have a Epiphone semi- solid/hollow body Wildkat ( Turquoise), a Saga T- (telecaster) style kit guitar with a hipshot bender attached, and a Fender GD47sce acoustic electric. I'm about ready to order another guitar from Eastwood. Oh yeah, I've also got an Ovation special balladeer acoustic- electric. Amps - a really really old Ampeg Gemini II with a 15 in Jensen, and a tendency to want to electrocute me now and then. Also got a Fender super reverb, a few processors, and hopefully, very soon, I'm getting the Epiphone Triggerman 60 combo amp.
All that being said, This guitar was only $399! It plays better and looks better than guitars costing way more. I've owned more expensive guitars in the past, but now I'm looking for more value, and this Sidejack is an incredible bang for the buck. If there was anything I wish it had, it would be a Case. Hard to find cases to fit this shape.
Check out Eastwood guitars and myrareguitars.com you won't be sorry"

"I have been playing 40+ years. In addition to my American Standard Strat and my Epiphone Riviera, I own a ton of gear. If the guitar were lost or stolen, I'd buy another immediately. I love the Mosrite vibe, and I actually like playing it MORE than my old Mosrite. The neck is much more comfortable than the old Mosrite pencil thin necks, and the sound is the same, as far as I can remember. There is nothing to hate about this guitar. When my guitar tech saw it- he said it was as good or better than anything they sell in the $700 range, and I agree. In fact , in overall quality of workmanship, this guitar completely blew away the last Gibson ES333 I bought , and piece of trash cost me $1100! Mike Robinson has a great idea with his Eastwood guitars, and you won't find a better company to do business with. Go to myrareguitars.com and pick out the retro model you remember as a kid and buy one today! They look the same as we remember, but play much better!"

I bought her. $266.51
have a brandy new gold bigsby that has been sitting in a box for about 3 years, it should go nice on it. Will have to trade out everything else for gold but it will look cool.

Eastwood calls that model a Sidejack DLX, right?

You made a fucking great score on that one. :)

here is another one going for 180.00 with no bids on it. I should get mine on tuesday. will review it here after I have it for a week or so.

That auction said Les Paul Custom, I may just be high right now but isn't that an SG?

iirc gibson changed introduced the sg originally as the new "les paul" model several years after putting out the original les paul, but les hated the new design and the rest is history.
i dunno if that's what's going on with that particular guitar though...

*I read an interesting bit of information about that recently-it seems that Les Paul was in the middle of a divorce when the endorsement renewal came up. Might have been a time in his life he didn't need royalties coming through-so he opted out of the endorsement-though it also said he didn't like the thin body & neck....

Heres a wikipedia entry about it.......
1961 Les Paul SG
Main article: Gibson SG
In 1960, Gibson experienced a decline in electric guitar sales due to their high prices and strong competition from Fender's comparable but much lighter double-cutaway design: The Stratocaster. In response, Gibson modified the Les Paul line. This 1961 issue Les Paul guitar was thinner and much lighter than the earlier models, with two sharply pointed cut-aways and a vibrato system. However, the redesign was done without Les Paul's knowledge. When the musician saw the guitar, he asked Gibson to remove his name from the instrument and parted ways with the company. Although this separation occurred in 1960, Gibson had a surplus stock of "Les Paul" logos and truss rod covers, and so continued to use the Les Paul name until 1963. At that point, the SG guitar's name was finally changed to "SG," which stood simply for "Solid Guitar." In addition to the SG line, Gibson continued to issue the less expensive Jr's and Specials (and the Melody Makers) with the newer body style. These were the standard Gibson electric models until the reintroduction of the Les Paul "Standard GoldTop" and the Les Paul "Custom" guitars to the market in 1968.

received the guitar today, plays great, looks great and sounds great. Got that twang that I don't get out of my Gibson humbuckers.

I really really like the neck on this thing and am impressed with the quality for the money. I think I will buy some more eastwoods.
