easiest recording software?

I'm a bit dim when it comes to digital recording (as is evident in my other posts). I'm looking for easy to use software for recording vocals and guitar. A few effects would be nice, but other than that I'm not picky. Just something that's simple and effective. Any suggestions?
 
There's no way to answer that...... everyone's idea of what constitutes user-friendly software is completely different.
 
Ach! I don't wanna say it but you're right. Cubase confuses me completely, but I have a friend who insists a preschooler could figure it out. Actually, he's probably right about that.
