Early Christmas Presents

My Christmas gifts to myself are arriving. My V67G came last Friday and I just got my pair of 603S's this afternoon (can' t wait to go home and play with them). I haven't recorded too much with the V67 yet but I will say it looks cooler in real life than in the pictures. Quite bright gold. Doesn't sound half bad either.
I also have an SP-B1 on the way but it was backordered so it won't be here until next week. I'm off work for two weeks over the holidays too so I'll have plenty of time to get to know them.

Now I have to start building up my non budget mic collection. I've got my eye on a TLM103. Seems to be pretty popular.

If I like the 603's enough, I'm thinking of getting a set for my dad for Christmas. He's a guitar player too and getting into recording. That should make up for all the past Christmas' I just got him a pack of gum.

i can't wait i'm gettina pair of 603's from the rents. it's gonna be a good x-mas
 
you should check out the Oktava Mk012's as well. as good, or better, and you can get different capsules for them.

Where can you get a pack of gum for only $.25???:eek:

There's only 7 shopping days left and I have a small handfull of people left.
At $.25 a piece I could get all of my shopping done today.

Of course......my girlfriend doesn't really like gum, but then again she has no idea what to do with the 8 channel snake I already bought her for Christmas either.:D

These are great mics. I do have a single cardiod MK012 (which is nice), but I like these better. I was surprised at how quiet they are and how much they pickup. I'm running them through a DMP3 into my AW16G.
Here's something I put down with them last night.
Taylor 414K (with sort of old strings) in my bedroom using XY about 6" aimed at the 12th fret. Sounds a little bassy but I think that's partly due to the room and the strings.
