I recently bought a used E9 Pedal Steel - it's a Carter Starter, but the previous owner moded it with much better pups, tuners and and improved frame.

Can anyone recommend a decent education video?

I have a basic understanding of grips and the whole 3-4-5-6-8-10 string thing with a general understranding of the pedals and levels - but I'd like to find a video that teaches some riffs, etc.

I'm sure I will learn some riffs listening to recordings, etc - but I'd like to shorten some of the learning curve and hit the ground running.

Ideally I'd ike to find something like "The 50 Country Riffs Every Steel Player Should Know" - but I have not found something that obvious. There appear to be 6-10 videos that can be purchased - but I've bought videos for other instruments and was often less than pleased.

So - any suggestions???

I have been pleased with a couple of Mel Bay books by Dewitt Scott. 1) 'Back Up Pedal Steel Guitar' and 2) 'Pedal Steel Guitar Method'. I seem to learn better from tab charts than videos.

Thanks for the input - I had looked at a couple of free on line video lessons which got me started - which in turn simply caused me to hunger for more.

I did find a video from the Homespun catalog that may have value - I also check out the Mel Bay books you suggested!

Let me also mention 'C6th on E9th' by Don E. Curtis if you want some swing or jazz sounds.
