E-MU 1820 docking station just turns off!!!

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue the E-MU 1820. Everything will be working perfectly, no hiccups, no warning, no nothing, you'll just sit down in front of your computer pull up the Patch Mix Interface Enotice that OH CRAP all the Dock lines IN & OUT are RED and you have NO POWER going to the docking station. All lights are out on the docking station too and you do what any normal computer user would do which is to restart or power off your machine and see if it turns back on...which it doesn't so you jiggle the cord, blow some air on things, re-connect it the opposite way, etc...etc...etc...sometimes even opening up your computer and RE-INSERTING THE CARD!!! Which MAY or MAY NOT cause the box to turn back on.

E-MU states that it is aware of the issue and to simply unplug and re-plug it in or to re-insert your card making sure you have a 'firm' connection.

MY CONNECTION CAN'T GET ANY FIRMER. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THIS THING!

And the craziest part. Is just as randomly as it'll turn off. It'll turn back on again and be fine...FOR MONTHS...than just go off. I don't get it. Any help anyone could provide in resolving the devilbox issue would be greatly appreciated.
 
I'd say buy a short run (6 foot) of some CAT5 networking cable and try it. If it works, have fun. If not...well... :\ Check out that forum above...

I had been to that forum above before only to find that E-MU is 'AWARE' of the 'Christmas Tree' problem and researching. No known fix. Just a bunch of folks doing a bunch of different things. I guess i'll just wait for the dumb thing to turn back on. I paid too much $$$ for this...getting pretty aggravated at this point
