The specifications and also the test results (from RMAA) show similar performance for each of these cards, but given the big price difference the E-mu is tempting....

I know that there is more to audio quality than just spec. so has anyone had experience with either or both these cards?

Presumably the audio quality of the Lynx22 is the same as the LynxTWO. The spec. on their home page is the same (?).

Any comments about these cards, to help me make a decision, would be much appreciated.

i do not have direct experience with either of these cards but after reading many posts here on both, the lynx is really something to be heard. The E-mu's have gotten great reviews as well but if iwere a betting man, i would say that the lynx would outdo the e-mu, but for the price difference i would personally go with the emu. I'm the type of person who gets cought up in price tages, thinking that more expensive is better so i am probably very biased and educated. hopefully somebody can enlighten us.

I have recently bought an Emu 1212m, and have been very impressed with it. I would really recommend it, the AD/DA convertors are very high quality.
The added expandability of the 8840 audiodock means you can have two high quality pre-amps and other ins/outs. Its very reasonably priced in my opinion.
Dont forget ADAT in and out too!
