Okay, these are going to probably be a strange couple of questions, but I'm trying to find a standard way of doing things where I work and to please my boss at the same time.
After doing work for a client, we sometimes give them their finished product on a CD or DVD (using CD-R and DVD-R). When making labels for these mediums I will put the following logos on them:
For an Audio CD:

For a Data CD:

and for a Video DVD:

First off, does anyone know if it's technically illegal to use these images? Looking at the DVD Forum website they state that unless you sign the "DVD Format/Logo License Agreement and become a Licensee" then only then can you use the logo on your medium. I never understand legal jargon and thought maybe this only applies to people pressing DVDs for mass production (such as movies that are going to be sold, etc.). And since we don't sell these DVDs/CDs perhaps we are exempt from that? My boss is just worried about getting in trouble doing this and we just want to be safe.
Second, assuming it's okay to use these logos, does anyone know the technically correct logos to use for the medium? Since we use DVD-Rs and CD-Rs for burning, are they considered "CD-R Audio" and "DVD-R Video"? I found this on Wikipedia:
"CD-ROMs are always pressed (mass-produced), whereas CD-Rs are recorded one at a time"
Since I've been using the "Compact Disc" logo, my boss thought maybe people would be confused and he wanted me to put CD-ROM on there....but this would be technically correct since it's on a CD-R right? And same thing with the other logos?
Any suggestions on "technicality" would be appreciated.
