This is a beautiful song. I hope you don't mind . . . I couldn't resist . .
Hey I don’t mind at all. I’m glad you liked it and I’m sure Maurice will be happy too. I’ll play it for him on Tuesday when we jam next. Would it be too much trouble to get you to bring the levels of the melody line you put in there up a bit so it’s more noticeable. I appreciate that you’re trying not to step all over the acoustic part. The bass is nice and sympathetically done also which in my opinion suits the song.
Cheers. Guy

Thank you. You're right, I didn't want to cover up the acoustic. I'll just turn it up a bit and see where that goes.

Pretty song. I really liked it. It was performed excellently.

The guitar has a really nice high end. There's a little cloudiness in the low-midrange. I think a mild cut centered somewhere near 400-500hz might clear that up. There are also some low-low end that could be rolled off.

It'd be a great arrangement to record the guitar in stereo and center it.

The vocal can get a little harsh in spots. I think the mid-2ks could be tamed and help that. Either EQ or a multi-band comp focused in that range. Or a de-esser.

I can hear someone shifting around several times in the intro.

Yes I’m sure it needs all of those things. This is just a scratch track that is basically there to record the layout and idea of the song. Now I will set it to a fixed tempo then re-record all of the parts individually, mix and add effects as needed.
Thanks. Guy

Not sure where to post this cause the song is too new to even think about mixing.
This is the scratch track we did on last Tuesday night. Lyrics and music by Maurice Motut.
Greay song and performance - got a bit of Fleetwood Macs Landslide in there - not in the vocals but the guitar.
