I've heard that digital duplication is not perfect - ie - there is some data corruption in transfer. Will copying sound files between locations on your hard drive eventually degrade their sound quality? Has anyone heard of this happening?

Of course not. It would be pretty hard to use your computer after a while if files were constantly being corrupted.

What you're referring to is "jitter", and is only an issue when a clock is involved.
