.......if you want to call it a "mod", it's simple.

I'm not big on using the AC Adapters on pedals unless I have to. I've got enough crap to worry about, BUT from another view point, I'm tired of forgetting to unplug my pedals, then coming back to find the batteries are dead. This entire project is still in the works, but I did a test unit, and it was without a hickup. Basically the positive on the 9v goes into an on/off toggle switch, then splits (one to the board in the pedal, the other to a 2.2k resistor which runs on to a red LED) The negative on the battery splits (one to the negative on the LED the other to the negative on the board. Cut and Dry, works like a charm. On a larger scale, I'm doing this with my Original Crybaby, Ibanez soundtank Flanger, and the Green Ringer/Phase90 Project will implement this method too. I've got a box that I'm mounting the toggle switches in, then using some flex, running the lines out the bottom of the pedal board that I plan on building, then back up into the box with the toggle switches/batteries, so rather than ganking cords to save my 9v, I can just flip the switches ftw! Makes battery swapping a breeze. Call me bored, or just lazy, or both.
