I am such a noob when it comes to MIDI. I own a Boss drum machine with midi ins and outs. Can I program a song within the Boss unit itself and send it via MIDI signal to Sampletank or other synth workstation all the while seperating them into separate tracks? I hope this doesn't sound too dumb, and maybe I am just asking too much. I am trying to find a way to seperate the different parts without recording them seperately, which is so time consuming. My only other option is to eq the different parts within the drum machine with its very basic eq and send that way... I really don't want to do that.
