Dull K-2000 Highs

Hello everybody,

I've had a K-2000 keyboard and rack for about 7 years and ever since then, they always sound dull and it drives me crazy when I record. I run my EQ flat because I don't want to add any noise from there, but, boosting the highs does help.

Anyone have similar experiences?

By the way...I'm running them through a Mackie CR-1604. I've always figured between the K-2000's and the Mackie, that I should be able to cut straight to CDR and have crisp highs, but it hasn't worked out that way. Seven years of frustrated recording efforts. Any help would be great.
