Do all audio programs such as Samplitude and Sonar support dual processors? I'm running 2 Athalon MP 2400+'s.

no. The software has to be specifically written for dual processors. It will work just fine if it isn't, but you won't get the performance increase you'rel looking for if it's not. I'm not sure about Samplitude, but I am pretty sure that Sonar supports dual processors.

On a somewhat related topic... Cubase SX let's you use 2 or more completely diffferent computers. They get linked together through an SPDIF connection. You can use one computer to record on, use another one to run effects, and even a third for a soft synth. All of them stay perfectly in time...supposedly.

I've got the Dual 2400+ MP's too, SONAR 2.0 has multi-processor support.

I know a guy at the local music store that told me about that multiple computer thing when we were talking about multi processor machines, but he said it was such a pain in the ass to get set up and working right and it crashed all the time.

Sonar and Nuendo do use duals, Cubas SX I'm not sure, but if it can cluster, then duals should be possible.

Cool Edit PRo and dual AMD does not work. Certified!

And you have to use W2K pro, XP Pro or Linux. (or NTxx)

It will be more a feeling of power with everything running without a stutter than running the double of plug-ins.
