Anyone with a Behringer DSP1000p Virtualizer Pro? Has anyone got the vocoder to actually work? I have been playing with mine for a couple of months now. I'm trying to get a sound like Roger in the song "Computer Love" or what Cher did on the song "Do You Believe in Love". I hope I am using the right equipment for the job. Or can anyone recommend another vocoder or means to produce this effect. Maybe even a descent type of sound as a carrier signal? I'm at a loss!
Any help is always appreciated.

I'm using that vocoder in a band I occasionally play with. The carrier is the output of a vintage Arp Pro Solo mono synth, and this gives the ordinairy vocoder robot-kinda voice. I use it for robot-vocals and as a voice controlled filter when playing solo's...
Don't know roger's tune... What we get out doesn't even sound like what cher does. Don't think this is what a vocoder sounds like.
If you want to hear a vocoder at work, check out Pink Floyd's 'Animals'. Don't know which song, but you'll know when you hear it. The new album of Daft Punk is full of it too. But I only heard pieces of that...

Also, it's not my Virtualizer, I don't really know how to program it or anything... We just plug it in, the drummer fiddles with the knobs a little, and I just play. :D Only the fun part... hehe...

@ teknomike - I appreciate the help. I checked the link and I don't know if I have the patience to edit like that (each word?!?). But, it is something to think about for small sections.

@ Roel - I will have to look for those two albums you listed as they are not currently in my collection. is the output signal clear or is it muddled?

The output is pretty clear. I'll try to get you an example maybe. We used it on a demo recording too. I'll email you for it. As I allready said, I'm doing 'session'-work (no $$), so I don't have the right to just publish these songs...

Hey viceversa,
If you can track down MISTERQUE, I believe he has played with the Vocoder setting on the Berhinger with some success
