Let us be unburdened by that which has been ?
Well, the room-within-a-room (one room, treated, tracking and mixing) is complete, got the mics I'm working with for now anyway, used the "two sticks" method for the overheads L/R (omnis) with additional dynamics on snare and kick. Let me know where I need to go from here or what I need to tweak if you don't mind taking the time to give an opinion.

Hi, I think you've got a good drum sound there, the only thing bothering me about the clip are the small timing errors. You could maybe add a bit of compression to the snare dynamic. I'm not sure how well advised this method is, but i sometimes set a ratio of about 4:1 and an attack time of about 50ms. Lets a bit of whack through and gives it some punch.

Not bad. I think the kick sounds fine, but the snare sounds like it's in a small box. I'm not sure if the snare sounds like that in your room, or if there are other things going on. Have you done any sort of processing to the kit, or is this a raw recording?
