And if you don't like the idea of using a keyboard for drums (I for one, don't, I keep forgetting where particular drums are) then the AKAI MPD 16 works well. Its a midi pad matrix.

Well, I don't plan to play the drums on a keyboard...I like writing the thing.
As for the card, it's an Audigy Platinum.
In cakewalk, when I choose if the track is midi or audio, I can set in the options to use soundfont, does it mean that I can download soundfont banks and "put" them in cake walk so that I can choose from 100 drum sets as if I was choosing "shamisen" or "banjo" ?
I have Vienna sound font studio (I never used it), is it for creating soundfont banks or for writing music using them ?
