Unpossible!
I recently ran into a bit of a problem. I can load 3 instances of drumagog, without a problem. When I load a fourth, I lose all the control buttons of the GUI. The interface is just blank in that section. The, when I load a fifth, it only opens a tiny widow with no controls and no way to choose a sample. The computer is not overloaded CPU-wise. And even the fifth instance works, it just plays the first kick sample in the drumagog gog folder......

Anybody got an idea what is happening?

That sounds like a problem that I used to have. Do you have the latest version?

It was a while ago, I can't remember if it was a bug that got sorted out or if I was just running out of memory.

You have to remember that with every gog you use, every sample is loaded into memory. Some gog files, especially ones with snares that ring for a long time or cymbals, are simply huge. You might be running out of memory.

I'm pretty sure I have the latest version. I will check and make sure.

As far as memory, I don't think that's an issue either, but I will definetly check that as well.

Thanks!

I started making more samples for my next collection a while ago, and I was going to take advantage of the fact that you can have many more samples in a gog than you used to be able to. I ended up making snare gogs that had almost 250 samples in them!!!!! They were such a memory hog, that I abandoned the idea and started over.

You can always go to the forums at the drumagog site. You get some pretty quick answers there. It does sound like a memory problem.

Hmmmmmm, just checked the memory usage and I am still good. I am using the Andy Sneap samples, and they are pretty small. This problem was posted over at the drumagog site, without a real solution. CPU and memory usage were cited, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. This is the first time I have needed to gog toms, and it has become a royal pain in the ass. I'll start a new thread over at Rim's place and see if anyone has an idea.

Thanks!

this rings a bell... sounds like an internal OS allocation issue dealing with screen objects.

what OS are you using?

is only the last Drumagog GUI affected or do all buttons disappear?

after the fourth instance, if you delete the first instance what happens to the last instance? now unload the last instance and reload it. what now?

can you run two instances of your DAW SW? load multiple Drumagogs in each... same result for each DAW SW instance? different?

Just tried it in Reaper (I normally use Cubase) and got the same result. I opened a VERY small project - 6 tracks. And the only plugins running were drumagog instances. On the 5th one, it stopped showing the full GUI. Had a LOT of memory left, and almost no CPU load.

after the fourth instance, if you delete the first instance what happens to the last instance? now unload the last instance and reload it. what now? - Sometimes it works. Sometimes not. I have used the freeze function in Cubase as well. This sometimes will work, others not.

Sonnix may be on to something. I had another plugin do the same thing in the same project as the drumagog problem.

So, now, how do I fix the problem?!?!?!?!?!?!!???!!!!?!?!?!!??

I may be getting my Windows versions mixed... I know in earlier versions of Windows a limited amount of resource space was allocated for Objects, I/O and the like, per task. I'm not sure, but probably this has been fixed in later Windows versions. There may be a Registry entry that can be changed to up it for each task. I'll be on the look out and post if I find something.

Does it happen in any other projects, oir just that one.

If it's just that one, export all the sound files and start a new project. See if that does it, it might just be a corrupt project.

Nope, happens in ALL projects. Including using Reaper instead of Cubase. The reaper project had 6 audio tracks, and 5 instances on drumagog, and that is it! No other effects or anything.

The more I mess around with it, the more I am convinced this is what's wrong.

Hopefully you can find where to fix it at.

Thanks for all the help!!!! :D

edit - also, the more I think about it, I have had this problem with other plugs before. I always just switched to a different comp, or eq, or whatever. But, I only have one drum replacer program!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

i've had the same problem lately myself

anything more than 3 instances just won't fly, even with no other plugs running

if you find a solution, please post, because i've been trying and failing for weeks now to replace some EZD tom tracks with the sneap toms, and it's just not working out for me

have you considered installing "another" XP-pro and Dual Boot. in the end, you may spend less time installing another XP (not over the present version but in addition too) and reconfiguring the new version. then when you have the new version just right, you can delete the 1st version and mod the boot.ini for only one OS.

Come to think of it, the last time it happened was when I was still on my old computer. That was my only computer, so it was on the internet, etc... Now that i have a dedicated computer, it doesn't happen. I'll bet sonixx is right.

I need to just wipe my computer and start over. I just need a break in projects, and it hasn't happened. I think all too soon I will be forced......ugh!

i dunno if that'll help...i recently reformatted and reinstalled my system, and went to work on the project that i've been having trouble with, assuming it was a system issue

after doing all of the performance-related tweaking i could, and before doing anything else, i tried working on my project, and guess what?

drumagog bit the dust after 3 instances.

Hmmm.

With me though, it's more than just drumagog. Also, the drumagog instances still work - I can even change parameters via the automation channels. I just can't select which sample to load. I tried saving a preset, but the preset doesn't include what sample is selected......

i should be more specific...in my case, the plugs still worked also, but i ran into the same thing you did - when trying to open the 4th instance, the plug's interface is "frozen"

on the 5th, it's just a little empty box

:(

i wonder if this is a drumagog thing, or a win xp thing. intuition tells me it's the latter. also, my school just added drumagog to their PT HD rig, so i'm going to take the project there and see if i run into the same issues on a powermac. $10 says no.
