hi there,
I've been upgrading some of my stuff, and it caused me weeks of grief!! Now i've finally got it all worked out and I was able to make a quick recording of my drums. Please give it a listen and tell me if it sounds ok , anything overdone, missing? Thanks to "Rick"Fenderlickiggood for the Beta 52 Kick drum mic....I needed it! A new RME multiface unit to get it all into the PC now. I recorded this at 24 bit, 48khz and then mixed it to 16 bit when i exported it out of Sonar. It has a little bit of Ozone on it. A small amount of compression on the bass drum. Your comment s and suggestions are always welcome!

track 1 Drum Track.

You don't want drum recording advice from me, so I'll just bump this back onto the front page.

Good luck :D

You might get a better response in the drum forum. There's a lot of drumming freaks over there.:D

Jason!

Hey man, i'm glad you found time to record and post something with the new mic!!!!!!!!! Sound's like ya got some other new toy's as well! COOL! and your smackin the skin's harder too!(although there are still some light handed hit's in there) My favorite thing is the kick sound(ok, i am some what biased):D But serious improvement to my feeble ear's over the last recording!! Sound's like a "heartbeat" very "round" sounding. The real test is hearing the drum's in a mix with other instrument's. Nice and clean recording!!!!! I think the biggest issue is with the drum tuning(tom's and snare) snare sound's real snappy, a bit weak, and to "distant" sounding(does that even make sense?) i think the tom's are to loud in the mix........maybe not a tuning issue with those. cymbal's are louder than the snare. Overall a vast improvement!!!!!!!!!!! Now record a whole song with your newly aquired gear!!!!!:D Please??:D

I really wish someone else would comment, I just don't trust my ear's! Maybe do what kramer suggested, post this over at the percussion forum. And screw cross posting!!!! you have already tried in here......so put it over there too!:D
But it is sunday.......maybe you will get more help tomorrow! I hope!

Thank's, Jason!!!!! Keep them coming!!!!! Post like a fiend!!!!!:D

Peace

Rick
