Bad drum sounds.

I'm sure you are aware that the entire kit is panned hard right. Why?

Yep, odd choice.

The solo drums sound muddy and distant - I think mostly due to the verb.

They also sound pretty lifeless. Probably could use some compression and a swift kick to the drummers ass. :D

okay
was recording it in a small room, playing VERY quiet
and to kick myself in the ass is kinda hard ;)

the thing is, i like the sound, it's pretty close to what i was aiming for
was going for an 60s kinda sound, not much high-end, 2 mics
(the only real drum is the snare. hihats, ride, toms and bassdrum are household-items and a bongo :D )

thanks for comments

Scroll down and click the "Fistful" theme. The bloke is close...but went too far dulling the kit...and then pushing it over.

I get it...what you want. Close! But the composition is pretty sloppily played...and some of the chords are just over the top dissonant. Too much of a good thing?

But , this tune, with a little tlc, might even have a market niche. Right at home in a whack kitch western like "Get [whatshisname]" the one with Dave Carridine done several years ago.
Do you have more traditional genre pieces, without the Stravinsky harmony?? Twang and tremelo?? Or is the dissonance the advant-guarde element that makes it your own??

The last track on your SoundClick page ("Spaghetti Western") and this are very close to the mark. I dug them. For western soundtrack music, which was your intent, it's really good. Maybe a bit more level and compression?

LOL!! Yep...you are the de facto spaghetti dude. :^)

Only nit: MO' TREMELO!!!! "Spaghetti" is right in the pocket. Lee Van Cleef sneers aprovingly.

the tremolo in my old japanese transistorized silverface clone isn't working really :D
if i set intensity to maximum, it's very subtle
