Drum software help please

Hi..totally new here and clueless about drum software. Could use your help. Noodled around the forum and couldnt find my answer.

I am looking for a simple software solution that will store and organize sound libraries and produce sounds triggered by an Alesis Control Pad via the usb port. i would also need to be able to play drum loops stored in the pc via Pad Triggering. I would wish for this mostly as a 'real time' 'live' thing rather than a recording solution.

Something simple..down and dirty..and cheap/free. if it would also work with my Roland Handsonic10 that would be great. The Alesis comes with BFD Lite, but I am looking for something that can accept all kinds of percussion sounds in standard file formats.

Software Sampler is what you need.

Shortcircuit is free: http://www.vemberaudio.se/shortcircuit.php

It is a vst plugin, you'll need to run it in a vst host like a sequencer ( www.reaper.fm ) or stand-alone host ( Toybear's Minihost is great for me: http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/downloads.php/id/4228/software/MiniHost/ )

Samplers will let you use any .wav file drum hits.

Try the Toontrack's EZDrummer, that one is a sampler and it lets u do your own midi grooves. It also comes with midi grooves already and you can drop and paste to your sequencer. I think its like $149, now.
