So.........almost a year later, and many hundreds of dollars over-budget, I finally completed my drum room. I have 2, 12x6 vents, and a 200 cfm fan that draw air from the main music room, through the drum room, and up into the attic. Yes, I'm all about air flow..... I need to somehow muffle/partially-block/interupt the vents to minimize sound bleed out of the drum room without choking off the air flow. I'm leaning towards rock wool pads mounted on 1" standoffs over the vents, but I wanted to see if y'all had any other ideas first. Thanks in advance...!!! Mark

See Quiet ventilation for soundproof studios and rooms - this is the direction most topics that I have read seem to take. It will be possible to build baffles that you can place in front of each of the vents. The basic principle is that air can flow easily through the maze in the baffle but as sound travels in straight lines, the absorption inside the baffles will limit how much bounces around and manages to leak out of your studio.

Perfect. Great link Cap..!!! Exactly what is was looking for. It looks like I'll be building some fairly simple baffle boxes for the interior of the drum room. Thank you for your help Cap !!
