Drum recording problem

hi, this is the first time ive used this forum so forgive me if this post is not in the right place. I have recently been attempting to record some songs and i have not been able to work out how i can record each drum onto a seperate track using a computer recording program. i have 6 drum mics and am using cakewalk home studio 2002. can this be done? if so what other equipment would i need? i would greatly appreciate any insight on how i can achieve this or where i can find any information. thanks heaps.

you'll need a soundcard with an input for each of the 6 mics

Yup. If you have the stock crap soundcard that came with the computer, you're outa luck.

An M-Audio Delta 44 for $199 will get you 4 inputs. Any more than that and the prices start to jack up quickly
