drum problem

It's hard to tell you what to do if we don't know what you have to use and what you've already tried. Those drums definately need a lot of work and it's going to have to be dealt with in the tracking.

ok well im using 4 mics for the drums, for got the name of the mics but they are going for 100 bucks at guitar center right now, the drums mics are going into a squier 4ch pa system and a line out to the computers sound card, using magix studio 7, when i listen to the drums on the monitors whn the drums are playing they sound great, but when it gets on cd the drums sound distant, is their something i have todo in the editing procosess, i was thinking of this copy and paste the drums tracks and put pan on track on the left, one on the right and one in the the center, will that have a better feel with the drums?

Copying and panning wont help. Believe it or not cheap mics through a cheap PA head into a cheap soundcard sometimes don't make great recordings.

Besides mic placement your only hope at this point is compression and EQ.

Drum problem

This sounds like a phase problem to me. Check all of your cables to make sure all are wired in the same phase. You can have an accoustical phase cancellation as well which would mean moving mics a little until it sounds better. Since you said the drums sound great going in, I really believe it is something out of phase after it gets in.
