Are there any practice pads that are better or worse than others? I feel like I will need one that represents the action of a real snare drum. I know most practice pads are nearly dead quiet, are there any that you can hear a little bit better, or does that even matter? I feel like a moron asking this question.
Peace
Paul

The foundation of a practice pad is help to your stick control, it doesn´t matter where you may be, you can carry it along with your snare method a metronome and that´s all you need. Of course there are great pads and standard ones, check here: www.midwestpercussion.com there´s a stick/pad combo you may like.

Well if you want a practice pad that you want to hear I would look into Heavy Hitter / Real Feel pads.
Their designed for the drum corps world so that are pretty hard compared to most drumset snares but their a great chop builder!
