Drum Options?

Hey Guys,
What are the best options for percussion tracks.My songs are in the begining stages and I am not ready to bring in a drummer.Although I have been playing for 25 years I am new to recording at home.The drum machines I remember were terrible, are they much better now?And how easy are they to use?I have read about sampling, what is this(digital)?Thanks for any help.

Nobody really likes fake drums

Drum machines suck........I don't think you can get a decent drum
track out of any of them. They just lack the percushion boom (for lack of a better term)

Pick up or use a copy of FLP.

Instead of using the FLP drum samples, try using some sampled live drums.
