does anyone know of any good drum machines?
i cant seem to find any decent beats that sound good that i either download or get off cd's that contain 1000's of "beats".
all they give is mostly techno/dance beats and thats not what im trying to write.

I have the Alesis SR-16 and I am very happy with it. It's very popular in the $200 range. I say get the Alesis.

Just read the thread titled "Auditioning a Drum Machine" located
in this FORUM and you might get a good idea!

Yo Outer Space Person:

Make sure you try the Boss 770 drum box. It's got some marvelous patches and, of course, you can program it.

Clean, clear, patches.

the boss 770 was the machine i was looking at. it does seem to have some pretty cool features. i think i read somewhere that some companies let you rent drum machines monthly and then decide if you like them, you can purchase them.

Jomox

Personally I would go for a Jomox. Try at ebay.de as being a german machine prices are much better in Germany.
Of course depend very much from the style of your music.
Jomox as few sounds but......it rocks really.
Very loved by electronic music or techno players.
You can shake walls !!

MAM is a good brand too quite cheap.
The reason why i suggest you these strange names is because they are not very popular yet and their sounds are special and will make your music sound bit different.

Give a try to the following link too.
