i want to put a drum key on a power drill to quickly remove and put on new heads. obviously I wont be using this to tune the drum, just take like 50 lugs off and on relatively quickly. im sure this has been done before...just looking for some direction on how to do this?

I'm pretty sure that Evans make a drum key drill bit thing.

Ive been doing this for about 15 years, the others are right, evans makes a bit for a drill. Just word to the wise make sure you use a variable speed drill and set your torque relatively low to be safe. works great and saves time and energy.

What type of drill do you have. I have used a dewalt 18volt cordless. It has variable speed, a 10 position torque setting, and it stops on a dime unlike a corded drill. I bought a set of odd shapped drivers from home depot for about $3 and it actually came with a couple of square drivers. One fit the tension rod perfectly. But I havnt used it in a while, ever since I got my yamaha stage custom kit with the quick lugs. I can chacge and tune a head in about a min and a half.
