heres a question for the 840GX again.

OK, I figure the best way to mic the drums with the AT kitpack I have is 1 mic on the snare, one on the bass, and two overhead. There is mad bleedthrough on each mic though. I read somewhere that to mic the bass you should stick the mic a couple inches in the drum and angle it about 45 degrees either way. I dont know if this is true, or if I should keep it outside the drum.

As for effects, what do I use and where. I figure record with no effects and then add them in the mix. I also figure that I should bounce these 4 tracks to the 5/6 or 7/8 stereo track. The problem I have is how do I get an effect on each track? Or can I? Or should I? It seems like when I try to add an effect to one track, it takes it off of another one, leaving me able to add effects to 1 track at a time. What kind of effects should I use on the drums too? There is built in snare and bass reverbs, but I dont know how well they sound. SOrry I rambled, but anyone out there using the 840 or similar might be able to help. Basically I need someone to say.....Set your mics up like this, record the drums like this, and add effects and bounce like this. Easy huh? But Im retarded.
