I recently got cubase 5 and everything is working great BUT! i cannot get audio from my mixer to go into the program cubse seems to not be picking up my mic, so i thought maby is a driver issue ????? im not sure anyone help me out here ? thanks !!!! :D

Have you checked to see if the drivers are up to date?

What interface are you using? Go to the manufacturers website and download it. :)

ok so what i have found out is that i have current version of cubase 5.0.1 so i went to steinberg.ca and downloaded the update package when i open it and run the setup my mac says the cubase 5 is not found ??? any ideas ?

No man, what interface are you using? That is the driver you want to download. Cubase should work fine from 5.0. 5.5 is much better as far as bugs go, but will not relate to the issue you are having. And as far as your MAC not recognizing it, I have no idea.

I had the same problem when I got a US1641 interface and cubase last year. Also using a mac. I spent 2 days trying to figure out why I couldn't get things working and their customer service sucks ass. The manual said I needed to install two different drivers, I ended up trying the 2nd one first and then the first one second. Worked like a charm.

Uninstall everything, start at the beginning of the manual, and work your way through. And remember the sign of insanity! Trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

jimmy im a newb where do i find the kind of interface i am using ? :) thanks !

Cubase doesn't use a driver - hardware uses drivers. The driver you need and the problems you are having are hardware related. Check your ASIO driver and your interface driver, check your sound control panel.

PS - the interface is how you get music into your copmputer.

i use a Yamaha MW12cs , but i dont think thats the issue because music i create midi on the mac the audio output has playback my issue is getting cubase to recognize/pickup my audio from my mic

Here is where you will find the drivers. Select the one for your model and Mac. Then install. Select it from Cubase. Well, once you get that working again. I have no MAC knowledge so I can't help there. :(

the yamaha website dosent have MW12cx as one of the available models for driver ??? wth

its magically working now ! thanks for all the help friends !!!

It's exactly your issue because you're plugging your mic into your mixer, right???? Once you install the drivers for your USB mixer, select it as your audio interface in Cubase (Use Deviec>Device Setup). You will have to use speakers or headphones plugged into your mixer because Cubase will route your audio outputs through it. Use Device>VST Connections to setup your channels.

Cubase has an Ultra steep learning curve as does most every DAW program out there. For us to help you better, please post as MUCH information as you can when asking questions.
