I just heard a rumor that Drawmer has purchased Behringer ..... anyone know anything about that ????

Sounds like a joke. Why would Drawmer want their name associated with Behringer?

I know! ..............................................................

I've checked my sources, such as they are, and can't find any reference to this this.

However, I have to say that if there's any truth to this, it's more likely that Behringer (or at least their parent company, "The Music Group") have bought Drawmer. TMG have far more financial clout than Drawmer--and, as for the association of names, you do know that Behringer (through TMG) own Midas and Klark Technik?

The Behringer group is getting big and starting to own some very good brands.

And like they've always done, they'll strip the 'good' quality gear and replace it on the market with the name and the less than desirable quality build at a low price. They will keep the flagship units which are still producing income but the rest of the lines will get deeply watered down.

Business is business.

Perhaps, though there's no evidence of this yet. Midas and Klark Technik are still producing high quality gear and releasing new models that continue that tradition.

What there IS evidence of is Behringer taking the good bits of the technology and incorporating it into the cheaper gear. For example, there are signs that some Midas technology is being included in the new Behringer X32 digital mixer which looks pretty sweet for the money (if it ever gets released).

Have to ask. Does Behringer make the wine that I see at stores under the same name?

No. And I don't think they've moved their vineyards to China either!

Hello Everyone,

I don't know where any of this came from! Just here to say, we are still independent and still manufacture in the UK! Cheers!

Thanks for the "horse's mouth" answer...and good to know my favourite hardware compressors are still going strong!

I hope it stays that way. I love your gear and am always suspicious when a larger entity starts sticking its nose and its controlling dollar into the works.

Its only my own personal speculation that brought that about.

WOW it's good to know that my favorite company that goes in hand with my other favorite UK companies Klark Tecnic and Midis are still independent as well as going strong!!!

It's also good to see that with the tens of thousands of internet threads being written that you have found this AND took the time to respond thank you so much Kieron Clough and I hope to see you here at HR more often!

Hello Again Everyone,
Thank you all for your kind comments! We do try to keep our eye on all things Drawmer related, but like you say there are a lot of threads out there! If anyone has any Drawmer related questions or problems, please feel free to contact us through the forum, email support@drawmertech.co.uk, or even drop by and write on our facebook wall! I need to get a few more posts up, I don't want to remain a newbie!

Thanks again, regards, Kieron.

:laughings: True Drawmer wine is by far superior :laughings:

Totally OT aside, but one of the UK's big suppliers of pro audio stuff (Canford Audio) used to sell wine by the case with standard looking Canford catalogue numbers. Very handy for getting purchases like that past the beady eyes of the accountants!

Don't think they had Chateau Drawmer though....
