Hey everyones, here's another one for you to dig into if you like. This one was fun to record, so crank it and party! :D jk, but let me know what you think of the mixing and the guitar tones and anything else. I was messing around with tones and came up with that one that sounded kind of 70s rock to me. Good stuff if you ask me, but I'm asking you :p cause I could be the only one in the whole world who likes that thin dirty tone...

That was fun!!! I really dig the drum sound. Sounds very raw and analog, reminds me of Lenny Kravitz's drum sound. There's something distorting at certain parts and seems to make the drum levels go up and down, I can't explain it. This is "Surf Rock on acid" baby. Really cool.

Hey thanks! :D :D

I like that, that's awesome! That's like something I'd stick on a CD cover...

As far as the drums go, I don't know if anything's distorting them, it might just be that the actual drum volume is inconsistant. Is that distracting? I could go through the drum track and try to level the volume some.

Peace!

It's a little distracting because you already have alot of tempo changes as it is...So to have the drum volume also moving up and down so much as well ends up being a little exhausting on the ears by the end of the tune. It's such a good drum sound that it should be driving the tune right in your face throughout, in my opinion. When I said "distortion", I didn't mean the drums were distorting, I meant a guitar or something comes in and seems to mask the drums...good shit regardless, though.

This one I love!!! The loose sound on this on this one!!

Yes RAMI is right...Surfer Rock On Acid!

SURFERS OF THE SHROOM!! :D :D :D

New Mix... still working on it today

Thanks True! Like 4 months late, but thanks girl :D

I remixed this and did some minor retracking. Any thoughts? The song is all over the place so if anything sticks out or sounds mixed poorly let me know which part. Any tips comments are appreciated since I'll be messing around with this some more today...

This and the above link should end up at the same file

Damn, dude. I missd this one last Summer. I was probably on vacation, but still.......

Cool as usual. Like the surf groove. Wow, this is busy. How did you remember all the tempo changes? Or did you just wing it?

Cool sounds, and it sounds like you have it mixed pretty well.

Sweet.... :D

Thanks man, this song was written from a combination of a lot of jamming, playing, and riffs I'd done before. So this one I didn't wing it and if I didn't get a tempo change I just stopped and started again...The cheating of multitrack recording! :p

Thanks, this was fun to play but a pain to mix. The instruments change roles all over the place and so on... Currently I'm trying to simplify things a bit more. More playing, less mixing :D

Peace Dawg ;)

Yeah, I think this might be the first tune Snaker posted. I remember it...Coool stuff.

I love the way those drums are sounding.

Very Bonham like bass.

Can you share a little about the drums, tunning, mics, etc....cause I am listening.

Again..... I love that drum sound!

Sillybee, those are drum loops, you Sillybee....But I do agree that they sound awesome.

Yep Rami knows my secret :p Those are Simon Phillips loops I put together... here's a link to how he recorded them, then I added a bunch of verb

Yeah this was my second tune posted ever... it's kinda cool though, I was obsessed at the time with trying to get a real drum sound so it's cool if I trick people :D

Someday I'd like to do my own drums, have complete freedom. Watch though, the quality of the drumming/sound will probably be much worse than what I got now

Thanks guys!

This is great surf stuff Snakedog....WATUSI! Must have taken forever to do those drums - great job! :D
