Dr Rhythm Dr-3 users

I just got one and would like to get a chance to go over some of the stuff in the manual with anyone who has figured everything out
re-"edit","copying",etc...

I just got one of these last weekend, it's been trial and error working everything out and I'm still not there. Judging by some of the posts about the DR-3, this isn’t the easiest thing to program, and I've found it easier the more you play around with it. I like it though, and have managed a few decent beats that sound good for someone who has never played drums or messed around with a drum machine before. Going to have a look at copying patterns this weekend, but have figured quite a bit out if you want to talk about it, I'll try and help.

Hey,smg here..I see one person has replied,and maybe some others have seen this..anyways what I'm tryiong to figure out how to do is to record in realtime over a user style that is a copy of a pattern......Phil or anybody??How did things go ??I'm just getting ready to start messing around with it again after a little break(was into it for a week straight when i first got it!!)

It's all in the manual. When you record a pattern, you add to what's already in the pattern, so you probably want to start with an empty pattern.

Steps.

1. Press "Ptn" button then the pattern you want to record, e.g., "Verse A"

2. Press the "record" button. I'm not looking at my dr-3 now, but it's the round one, I'm pretty sure. This puts it in record mode.

3. To go to live record, now hit the "play" button, (two buttons to the left of the record button) A one measure click will start, then you start banging on the buttons.

It'll keep repeating the measure til you hit "stop", so you can keep adding to the pattern.

4. Hit "stop" to finish.
