I'm trying to midi up protools 002 and a dr 770. Can anyone give me some advice?

Set the 770 to slave.
Make sure midi thru is off.
I'm not sure about the protools end of it,but you should be setting the tempo and sending midi messages on the same midi channel as the 770.
