Ok...I'll try to explain this correctly. I have a DP-24 and recently it's started to show around a -30db level of noise on both left and right output channels. It's not identical on both channels. Slightly different levels. It only begins to happen when I play a track. Does not happen in CD mode during play or after. Does not happen when first powered up......and even if left on for hours.....as long as I don't hit play with any active tracks. I changed the power supply with no luck. When amplified, the noise seems like a very high whine sometimes....and sometimes only like white noise. I have the unit on a good power filter. This is a new problem. Never happened before. As soon as it occurs.......I can turn the unit off and then power it back up and the problem is gone until I hit play again. If I mute the active tracks one by one........the problem begins to disappear until the last track is muted and then it's 100% gone. It's there in mixdown mode and mastering mode as well. And to add to my problems.......I've also begun to notice that my master tracks have a "click" from hitting "Play / Record". This is new too........and aggravating. Any ideas? I use Reaper too so I'm not in trouble.........but would like to get to the bottom of the problem. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
