Previously......months ago.........I had a problem installing the latest driver software on my DP24 when using my Win 7 64 bit laptop. After much head scratching........I tried loading from my older XP 32 bit laptop and it worked just fine. Never figured out why that happened as everything I read tells me the DP-24 should have no problems with 64bit files. I have the latest software / drivers loaded.

So......I recently discovered that any of my saved "songs" from the "MUSIC" folder in the DP-24 will not reload if I saved them to my Win 7 64 bit pc either. I can open the "MUSIC" folder in the pc and drop the song in and when I reopen the DP-24 to load it..........it's not there. I can go back into the DP-24 MUSIC folder and see it.........but it's not there to "load" from the DP-24 menu. So.........you guessed it. I saved a MUSIC song file from the DP-24 to my XP 32bit pc and.........it reloaded and showed up in the DP-24 song list and could be loaded.

I'm stumped. Any ideas?

I think you're a little confused by all the bits and bytes. The operating system of your computer (32 or 64 bit) has nothing to do with the format of the WAV files. The DP-24 allows you to choose between 16 and 24 bit, and 44.1 and 48 kHz. In order to import a WAV file the song must be in the same resolution as the file you are trying to import (or vice versa, of course). It's all in the manual.

Rusty Axe......thanks for the reply but my problem is not with importing wave files. I have no trouble doing that. I can export and import wav files to and from DP24 tracks via the "Audio Depot" folder. The problem I'm having is with saving my complete "Music" folder or one of the "song" folders within the "Music" folder and then importing either one of those back into the DP24. Sounds like you have a DP24. As an example......if I go to MENU.......USB.......CONNECT........my pc sees the DP24 files. If for instance I open the folder called MUSIC and chose one of the song folders in that folder............and then I copy that to my pc........it will transfer to my pc with no problem. I often copy song folders as a back up just in case. So...if for instance.......something goes wrong (or I make changes that I don't like) and I just want to restore the original as it was........I can reopen the DP24 MUSIC folder........(after deleting the changed version / folder from the DP24) and drop in the original version of the song and it should appear in the song list on the menu and be able to be loaded onto the Tascam. When using my Win 7 64 bit pc......I can drop the song into the DP24 Music folder.........it appears to go in..........and yet when I reopen the DP24 to load the song it's not there. Using the very same method....no difference at all.........if I do the same process with my XP pc..........it works fine.

Sorry to be so long winded. This really has me stumped.
