DP-02 freeze up

In the middle of recording multiple tracks on the DP-02, I'm encountering flashing play and/or record buttons. Especially when I go to playback what I've just recorded.

When I either try to save the song or play it back, the message in the window says "Not Stopped". Same thing when I try to shut it down. Same message.
So I wind up pulling the plug and losing whatever I've recorded recently.

I hope there's a solution I'm not aware of so I can protect my work.

I'm not familiar with the DP-02 (I've got the CF), but I would imagine it would have something to do with the internal hard drive. Either the drive is trying to keep up, or there is something awry with it. The DP-01 was notorious for hard drive problems, but I haven't really seen many people complain about the DP-02. It might have to stop temporarily to write the data, while it's buffering what is still being recorded. I'm just guessing though. Does it happen often? Does it happen under certain circumstances (length of recording, particular track activity, etc.)?

Give Tascam a call. They are pretty good with their technical support, most of the time.;)
