I've been looking for an ideal combination to record acoustically on the DP-008. I have a couple pretty good condenser mics and have been using those picking up the guitar from a Roland cube. However, I can't seem to get a natural sound that way.

Recently, I've been tring to record directly into the internal speakers. This gives me a good acoustic quality, but I can't seem to get the volume up to an acceptable level without getting extremely close to the unit and cranking up the input and the track level.

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

I'm going off an assumption that the DP-008 is similar to the DP-004, only with more channels and built-in effects. There should be a button along the top that says "Input Setting". Once you press that button, it should give you a list of the inputs (internal mics 1/2, and mic/line inputs) and what their sensitivity is in terms of "Low", "Med", or "High". You should be able to adjust the sensitivity of your needed inputs through there and get better results. Check your manual (or download the one from Tascam if you don't have it) to get the 100% correct way of getting to the menu and making the adjustments.
