I use a DP-008 for recording and am used to a separate guitar track. I recently purchased a TC-Helicon Harmony G harmonizer and would like somehow to keep my vocals separate from my guitar on the Tascam. However, the Harmonizer requires guitar input to create the harmonies.

Does anyone have experience in this area? Is there any way to have the harmonized "hear" the guitar without recording it to the same track as the vocals?

Thanks!

im a bit confused here...are you trying to use the harmonizer for vocals or guitar? couldn't you just record them seperatly?

Are there not seperate outputs on the harmonizer? I doubt seriously that they intended both guitar and vox outputs to both go into a PA or guitar amp. Just put the two outputs into the DP-008's two inputs.

Use the "pass thru" jack on the harmony for the guitar. Guitar goes in the bottom 1/4" jack. Top one goes to either channel on dp-008. Harmonizer out (XLR) goes to the other channel. Harmonizer will still respond to the guitar but the guitar will be in the other track.

If you are playing an acoustic, your mic will most likely pick up a little guitar crosstalk, but that would happen even w/o the Harmony.
