we are selling it on our website, but for homerecording.com I kind of wanted to let everyone hear it for free... anyway, some response and criticism would be nice. it's about 30mb.

we did it all ourselves. did not get it mastered... no money. so yeah. it's whatever... just a response to it would be nice.

how about posting a single so we could see if we even want to download the whole cd..........cause if it sucks, I don't want a whole cd's worth of suck. :D

Some pretty good tunes there. Everything seems to be mixed pretty well. I liked it, and thanks for the free download. You can never have too much music.

myspace is as good as dead.....almost anytime I try to go there, the page never finishes loading. I gave up on that place. I'm downloading the cd now. I think I remember hearing one of your tunes before and it being good. I'll come back and comment after I check it out.

also some tunes on the website, escapvelocity.ws if you want to preview it, but it's 30mb, on a broadband connection, it's not a big decision to make - I don't know if a lot have downloaded it or not, but not many responses.

Well, this isn't what I would normally listen to, but thanks for the free download. Anyway, it sounds like you've done a pretty good job of recording and mixing. Good composition and that. I wasn't overly keen of the sound of the hihat, especially at the start of The Only One, but's thats just me being a fussy drummer, and I'm listening with my computer speakers so who knows what it really sounds like!

Anyway good luck with the sales!

strangely enough, the beginning of the only one, the hi hat is really doubled by the bassist plucking/muting a string... I didn't catch it until later, and he thought it was hilarious. that's what happens when you create music with a bunch of characters I guess.

That's actually pretty good, great songwriting. The singer reminds me of a less whiney billy corgan, which is cool. I listened to the tunes streaming on myspace and they were good enough for me to download the entire thing, which I'm doing now. I'd like to hear what you guys could do in a professional studio.

Woahh, what a strange mix of songs! Production sounds alright. The vocals are nice and thick. Where is the lo end? Not sure about starting with a heavy tune then going straight into a quiet tune though.
Personally i would prefer more of the heavier songs rather than the quieter acoustic tunes.
Are yous influenced by smashing pumpkins, muse and jeff buckley? just a wild guess, prob wrong.

Ha yes I can hear it now! I'm listening on my computer speakers, which aren't really bad, but they are hardly an accurate reference. It really threw me off. Listening to Seven Against The Night now and the hihat sounds much different.

I enjoy the drums in seven against the night, they just came out even nicer for some reason compared to the other songs and I don't know why. As far as influences... well you got Muse right, unfortunately I started listening to them after this CD was done. ;) However, I really enjoy all the bands I listed on the MySpace page, but the main ones are probably Weezer and the Beatles, as well as a lesser known band called Of Montreal.

You really just can't beat good variety I think. Melody most intrigues me when it comes to music. I wrote all the songs except the one called "Sleeping in a beetle bug", which the band Of Montreal let us cover. That's me singing as well and playing all guitar. Anyway, I thank you all for your responses and I hope more people download it and tell me their opinions. This board had a lot to do with how it sounds.

I really like this album, the Vocals are sweet, they really pull through over everything so well.

good work =)

Thanks for offering the whole album, that's pretty cool to do.
I listened to some singles, but it wasn't my thing.
It seems well done though and you're certainly above the average we all hear everyday.

It does sound like a "less whiney Billy Corgan". It is an original sound, too, within that genre. I like "Sleeping in a Beetle . . ."

Good luck.

even after hearing the "singles", I recommend you hear the whole album. the variety is what makes it endearing.

Yeah I agree, the drums do sound a bit nicer on Seven Against The Night.
