My Live OEM value came in. I installed it and don`t like the tinny sounding 2mg soundfonts The and GS and XG sound better. How do I load the 8 meg with w98? I can`t find an option to do it. Maybe I need to get all that PCI16 stuff off and start over. The OEM doesn`t come with hardly any software thats useful but the soundfont editor.

--You need a program named AudioHQ. It should be in the start menu under Creative/Soundblaster Live/.
--If you have it, great. If not, then we ned to know if it can be downloaded anywhere (I already asked on the creative newsgroup) or where you can get a copy.
--There were complaints about this on the newsgroup: at some point, Creative stopped posting the entire install CD contents. I looked and only found drivers and PlayCenter updates, and I don't know if PlayCenter includes the AudioHQ program or not. You can try downloading PlayCenter if you want, but I'll likely get an answer within a couple hours from now......

great, cause there was nothing with the OEM but the drivers for ensoniq and creative and the 2,4, and 8 meg soundfonts. I`ll be checkin in...

it's the whole package for the Live 5.1 but it won`t install on my system. It says my Live Value OEM isn`t a live 5.1 and won`t install.
So i`m back a square 1.

Where did you get the card and what part number was it there?
~

I don`t really care about the surround options for gaming, or the 5.1 extras. I just want to be able to load the 4 and 8 meg fonts at will.

You have a different card than a SBLive 5.1: there's a card named "Soundblaster Live 5.1" and another named "Soundblaster Live Value". All that I can find says the Value lacks is the digital output though; pages that review the Value mention all the same software my Live has. CompuVest shows a photo of an actual SBLive 5.1, it has five jacks on the back. Photos of the Value shows only four jacks.
-------
The CompuVest part number for the SBLive 5.1 is: SC-SB3209
price=$33. You could return the Value and get a 5.1. I would advise this, myself.
...
Or- try the Creative SBLive newsgroup- it's down for me at the moment, but look for posts asking about the SBLive Value, not the SBLive 5.1.

I wonder if I delete the 2mg soundfont would it load the 4 or 8 by default? I`ve downloaded 2 versions of the software to manage fonts but neither works. Im going to get rid of the 2 meg fonts cause they suck.
