I'm going to buy a pop filter for recording, and I'm deciding if I want a single or double. Any thoughts/experiences? Thanks.

A toilet flange for a Neumann?!

:D

Intersting rig you have there.

Simple pop filters can be had for like...$25, and you get the gooseneck and clamp.

Anyway...I like to have my pop filter mounted to a sperate stand...NOT the same one as the mic.
1.) I can control the distance from the pop filter to the mic.
2.) If the pop IS hit by the singer (most like to put their nose right up to it)...it has no effect on mic in any way.

The flange was a neat idea and thoughtful. I hate building things because they don't turn out right, so I'll buy mine.

Yes the toilet and Brother Neumann make a chance meeting in the night!

You can make a simple screen (who hasn't done this?) by just bending a coat hanger in a circle and covering it with panty hose. Bend the coat hanger around something big and round like a big pipe.

You don't have panty hose? What kind of person are you? How do you rob banks?

They also sell, in the land of knitting and crochet, wooden and plastic hoops (actually a hoop within a hoop) that make good pop filters and some "pro" ones I bought at a music store I'm sure were actually made from crochet hoops.

Then you have them covered in panty hose, and leave enough panty hose that you can double it over if you need it.

See my philosophy is drive a beater car, cut coupons, wear clothes from Goodwill, make your own mic holder etc and put all the money you save towards $4K mics.
