This is a song by the band Quadrapet from Springfield, IL. A guy by the name of Warren Taylor tracked it and I mixed it. I think it's okay, but it could definitely stand some improvements here and there. I'm not sure what mics Warren used, but I know that all the tracks were recorded with an Alesis HD24. I dumped them to my system and mixed it using Sonic Foundry Vegas Audio.

Let me know what you think. Good? Bad? So-so? What areas need improvement. What areas are just fine. Whatever!

:D

Sounds pretty good. I'm not crazy about that snare sound and I'd probably compress the vocals a little more to help them stay above the mix. Overall a great job.

Thanks a lot for the confidence boost. :) I'm not crazy about the snare either, but nothing I did could make it sound better (short of replacing it all together and I wasn't getting paid enough to take on that kind of burden!)

The vocals always seemed to recess in the mix no matter how much I compressed them (and believe me I compressed the shit out of them). The mic being used for vocals was the Marshall MXL2001 and I wasn't crazy about those tracks either. Alas, I was merely brought in to mix and all my pleas to get them to redo the vocals and bass with me fell on deaf ears.
