Wow, that was weird. I closed the thread by accident. I've never had that option on any other forum.

Bump.

I think the intro to this song really drags along and needs to be changed.

Sorry that I closed the thread. I'm an idiot sometimes.

I think the drum samples could be more realistic, and the guitar can use a bit of body. It seems flat and dry. The playing is excellent don't get me wrong, but the samples and mixing could definitely benefit from a bit of tweaking.

Thanks for the response, US, yeah I'd like to remix the drum part. I'm struggling with Session Drummer 2 at the moment. I don't like the guitar tone, myself, but I like the playing. It's always something:mad: When I rework this I'll revisit your comments. Thanks again.

I like this piece, but agree that the guitar could use a bit of reverb and and more body - was this recorded just with a pickup? I think mixing a mic feed would help.

There are also some timing issues between the guitar and the piano. The latter sounds a bit "quantized". But when they are together (e.g. the runs at 1:35-1:45) it sounds great. I love the horn break... what did you use for that sound?

yeah, I'm aware of the timing issues. But both parts are actually dancing around the click and should work if I can get it right. The horn patch is actually two things: A "bones" section playing chords at a low volume and a trumpet patch doing the melody, probably "three trumpets" because I use that a lot. They are from a Roland XP-30 synth. Glad you like the sound. I will remix this and get the timing tighter. Thanks.:)

Very cool Xeries, the guitar playing is excellent. The mix sounds pretty good, getting a keyboard to blend with an acoustic can be tricky but you've done a good job. Nice patches again! I'll let you play with this but I found it great as done...:D

Thanks much, ido, I like this one except for the beginning, and while I'm at it, I might as well track the git and piano to get tighter. But I like the arrangement. Nothing else will change, but the timing. Thanks for the reply.
