Ed & I finished this one off just recently - Chemical Dependancy. Interested in any thoughts you've got on this one. Cheers

Nice blend of guitar & beats. I think it needs a shoutier vocal like prodigy etc. rather than the DMish devil voice. Though that voice would make good for interludes.
This is kind of like the Cramps meet Fatboy Slim with Rob Zombie toasting.

I'm getting some Zeppelin-esque vibes from the guitar tone on parts of this - very cool. The whole thing has lots of great guitar tones and playing. Bass is nice and fat on the bottom also. The vocals are well done - thick and naturally distorted for a real cool feel. Good arrangement on the guitars and vocals. What are you using for drums - they sound great! Great job Mr Dogman and Mr Hit!

:) :D :) :D

rayc - I've got to take a large part of responsibility for the 'devilish' vocals. Ed sent them to me pretty straight and I messed around with them, without his permission. But Ed's very forgiving. :D Personally I like the way they turned out. Nice analogies there. Hadn't ever considered Fatboy Slim, but thanks!

ido1957 - Very nice of you to mention the Z word sir, thank you. The drums are my old (& I mean Old) Pearl kit. Thanks for the kind words.

Pretty cool stuff man!

Kind of reminds me musically of Ministry or Skinny Puppy, and vocally of rob zombie. Not a bad combination, actually...

If you guys dig that kind of heavy synth driven stuff, industrial type stuff you should check out Snake River Conspiracy's cover of Cure's 'Love Song'

Cool man, interesting tune. Love the almost distorted NIN drum sound here, very fitting. Nice thick low end on my surround system. Electronic elements and effects sound good. Dogman sounds like a monster here too! :D Dog Zombie.

typing while listening and im not very good at either. Very cool man, love the guitars and the overall groove with the drums. Dog you sound great, you really are getting better and better everytime i hear you sing. Like the effects going on the vox as well. The change ups and little bridges are great. Really enjoyed it man, very very cool.

take care
gary

Signature Dog going on right there. Heavy all around. Bull never disappoints me with his drumming and drum sounds. This kiks.

I do have a nit, though. I find the snare doesn't match the rest of the kit (or mix) in volume. The snare sounds way lower, and too low in my opinion. Maybe the vocals are a bit too lud, too, but that just may seem that way to me since I don't have the snare in my face.
Besides that, it's very BIIIIGGGG!!!!!

What RAMI said.

Sounds cool, but to me the vocals are too far on top and the snare sounds.... quiet and lacks attack.

My change my mind about the snare if the vocals where taken down a bit.?

I'd like to know what all was done to the vocal track to get that sound? Very cool treatment. Or where you able to book the devil for a session?

amra - Thanks for the comments. I'll check out that Snake River Conspiracy cover too. Cheers for that

SnakeDog5050 - Heh Dog Zombie. Thanks for giving it the spin Snake

gbav - Thanks for the cool comments Gary. Glad you liked it

RAMI - Yeah you're right about the snare. It all stems from me forgetting to tighten the damn thing up before I tracked. There's one lug on it that always unwinds. I thought I'd got it sorted, but obviously not. I'll get drumagog on the case. Thanks man, appreciate the comments

Freudian Slip - Yeah I'm going to sort the snare out. I think it's more that it's quiet rather than the vox are loud. For the vocals I just panned Ed's tracks slightly and ran them through the UAD Channel Strip plug which has compression, eq, delay etc. in a rack type arrangement. Seems to work quite well on Ed's vocal. Thanks for the feedback

Ain't that always the case. Why is that??? Even on the best drums, there's always that one lug. Usually the one that's right at where you would do a rim shot. After all these years, you'd figure someone would have found a solution.

By the way, I've always made quick comments on the tunes you've colloborated on...But I want to make it a point to say that I really love your drumming and your drum sounds are always right up there with the pro's, man...You have all my respect as a fellow drummer...I just wing it and hope I get a good sound on my tracks...You're the real deal. You should be giving clinics and getting endorsements, bro.

And you're such a slouch, Rami.... :p

Damn, you knock out tunes faster than I can drink a beer....and I've never heard one song of yours that wasn't just a blast to listen to. Thanks for any praise for my small parts here, but Bull is a very talented lad also... :D

Wow. I'm sort of amazed that there is not more done to the vocals. Sounds almost like distortion was applied. Very cool. I guess he is the devil. Very cool sound.

Wow thanks for the props. It's funny, I always thought you had the most righteous drum sound around here. Your sound and playing is honest and natural, whereas I cheat like a bastard. :D If I sit down at the kit and record 5 minutes of drums, there may be 20 seconds of stuff that I can slice up into loops to do something with and the rest is just crap. But I believe in technology and that the means justify the end. Heh I'm certainly not the real deal though it's damn fine of you to say so :D

Yeah it's actually a LFO in the delay modulator plug that gives it that distorted effect. But you need grit in the raw vocal to start with the way Ed's does. I've tried the same effect on my vocal, and it just makes it even squeakier :D

It's a UAD plug called CS-1. I can highly recommend a UAD card if you're looking. All their plugs just have a great sound

The__Bomb - Oh he got more man he got plenty :D . Thanks for checking it out

I like the drumset sound a lot... kind of African, a bit Bo Diddly-ish. Very live sounding. Dogman is pure evil in this. Not sure about the boingy sound simply because it diminishes the evil effect. I'd replace it with more of those ballsy low guitar riffs like at :30.
