doesnt waves c4 and LinMb do the same thing or what's the difference bewteen them besides you can change the Q in c4 and not in LinMB? i know Waves LinMB was designed for mastering but is it also better to use it during mixing instead of the c4?

The Lin mb sounds superior to me.

Plus it has 5 bands instead of 4.

It also has automatic gain adjustment.

And the adaptive function which is very useful.

Trim function and dither on off button.

Over all the lin mb is a better plug.
More cpu intensive though.

thanks pingu for the feedback. so is the linmb pretty much just an upgrade of the c4? so it's better to mix with the linmb too huh?

Its tough on the cpu but itis a better plug.

From the manual

The LinMB is an evolved version of the C4 MultiBand Parametric Processor. If
you are familiar with C4 you will find the Linear Phase MultiBand very similar,
adding some true breakthrough innovation and technology that yields superior
and purer results.
The LinMB has -
5 discrete bands each with its own gain and dynamics for equalizing,
compressing, expanding or limiting each band separately.
• Linear Phase crossovers allow true transparency when the split is active
but idle. The only effect is pure delay with no coloration of any sort.
• LinMB is equipped with the options for Automatic Makeup and gain Trim.
• Adaptive threshold behavior achieves most effective and transparent
multiband dynamics processing.
• LinMB has the visual interface of the award winning C4 with Waves’
unique DynamicLine™ display showing the actual gain change as an EQ
graph display.
Waves created the LinMB to answer to the most demanding and critical
requirements when Mastering any sound and genre of music.

thank you pingu that helped me alot cause i was extremely hesitant to use waves linmb during mixing and used c4 cause i thought it was designed for mixing and linmb was designed for mastering.

Forgot to mention that the Lin mb has latency. if you find out how much in the manual you might have to nudge forward the audio in question.
