it most certainly doesn't suck ;)

cant really say much about a great recording and song...the main guitar was panned too hard for me and was a fraction too loud...made me notice it too much and distract me from the rest of the song..vocals slightly higher??

dunno

great song :)

Nope, don't sux at all...! :D
Very good song and performance. Great singing as is usual on your tunes. Nice bass tone. Drums sound great to me. Nice work!

Joey :):):):)

It doesn't suck. Pretty good actually. The bass playing is fantastic, but for me, it's too busy. I totally appreciate cool bass licks, but sometimes I think it's a bit too much in this one. That's just me though. There's a slightly weird space relationship between the drums and guitars. The guitars are panned hard and appear pretty dry while drums sound pretty roomy. Maybe dial back the reverb on the drums just a hair or make the guits sit a little better. Levels all sound good. Good job and a pretty good song. :)

Thanks guys

Yeah I don't like how the guitars and drums sit either. I'm gonna try something different with the mix. Seems like it's a little to 80's for my taste. I'm gonna try getting everything a little smaller/punchier. Seems like it's all a little too far away for my liking. Anyways I'll post the different approach later

Good song. It sound like you've got a great variety of creative influences here. The guitar (which kcearl was probably right about; it is panned a little hard) have a cool grunge/punk tone. The lead vocals have kind of an 80s metal vibe about them.

Nice work.

Hehe.... Made me smile. I love how the music is incredibly positive and peppy, and the lyrics are exactly the opposite (from what I can tell). Great play on emotion.

I have mixed feelings on the hard panned guitars. Something seemed off, but I generally really like the spacious 3-D sound. Maybe it's because the backup vocals and guitars occupy the same space? I don't know, but at this point I don't really care.

Great tune, and nice recording!

Also, I love your snare sound. What type was it? I'd love to get a snare that sounded like that for my studio.

I don't have any comments on the mix, but I'm diggin the song.

Great job.:D:D:D

Primarily I'm a bassist. As such I am biased BUT I can't see the point of the bass intro. It's too busy & too long for the prupose.
A little matching verb for the guitars & drums might make this gel a little better.
the song is really good, the playing is really cool too.
I'm no fan of the catch phrase "This sux" as I can't help getting caught up in the whole history of the meaning of the phrase & it's value as a statement used by 4 - 94 year old in company.
Nice up tone to everything!

Ok I did a few things here, hopefully for the better

vox down a bit and less hyped on the high end

- reamped the guitars and used a room mic for reverb instead of fake reverb

- pulled down the bass a bit, kick up, tried to get some of the mud out of the mix

Tried to get it a little more garagy sounding than hansen 1994 sounding.

I think that sounds fucking fantastic. Great vocal chops.

Song is cool. Performance is spot on. I can hear the kick, but not quite feeling it and I've got it cranked up!! :D But that is a personal preference. If you opted to not touch a thiing, that would be good.

thanks for sharing.

Love it. Second the comments re: your snare. Sounds great.

Interesting song and interesting arrangement. I like it. No nits, really.

Wow...this is really well done mars:)!

Drums and vocals in particular sound awesome. Love the chunky tone of the guitars, but to me they almost seem a little disjointed at times all off to the sides as they are, but still...sounds great. It has tremendous clarity and lots of guts to it.

More hansen:p:D!

Catchy tune dude. As a drummer (hehehe you're just gettin criticism from every type of musician aren't you?) I'd say back up on the hi-hat and bring a bit more of the highs or "pings" on the ride.

And I think you could bring the highs a bit down on the highs of the vocal when he emphasizes a high note, it kinda is a bit too much for my ears when I hear it.

Otherwise great song, I like the tune man, keep it up.

Don't have much to add - except maybe to just emphasize that the vocals are very well recorded. It's clear what kind of sound you wanted them to have in the mix, and you nailed it-Good job.

I am interested in the bass tone. It actually sounds like a synth at times - is it? If not - what kind of bass was it, and what (if anything) was between it and the final sound? I really like the tone a lot. Not all scooped-ish sounding, and also not muddy. It totally worked for this song...so share! :D
