Does the Firestudio Project work without flaws yet?

I'm considering either a FS Project or a MOTU 8pre, but tons of people say the Firestudio has loads of problems. I'm using a maxed-out Macbook Pro, (the older one, so 2.4 ghz, 256 video memory, etc.) so I feel like I wont have any problems, but does anyone know from experience if this thing works yet?

I have a Firestudio with no problems, but I don't know about the Firestudio Project.
 
I use two FireStudio Projects, and they work fine. I had issues with the firewire connections at first but after adding a FireWire-400-only PCI card (PreSonus is specific to FireWire 400) it was fine. I researched a lot of the firestudio problems at that time and most come down to not using compatible hardware with the unit. Check the presonus website for it's list of compatible and incompatible hardware and you'll run one fine.
