Does Steve Vai work with a choreographer...?

If anyone asks me, in the future, why I don't like Vai's stuff I'll show them the above vid.
The dancing makes Angus Young seem like twinkle toes and the clothes? man, james brown wants the jacket back & Carnaby Street wondered where the NOS of loon pants went.
 
I remember reading an article on vai.com years ago, where he talked in length about finding good mimics and gestures for certain riffs and licks and practicing them in front of a mirror,
so yes, this stuff is surely kinda "choreographed".
But I really get to love this,
sure, it looks completely bonkers, but I dig the dedication and passion that shows.
I mean, many of us are happy to fumble through our usual set of songs on stage,
and he takes so much freedom to practice weird dances while playing amazing stuff...
Weird, but insanely cool.
 
Not gonna comment on his playing (he plays better than me, and some love his stuff,) except to say he should stick to playing guitar. That was awful!
